Predator #3 was the second race truck built by Allen Pezo. It was built in 1992. Called Predator 3 because it was the third Predator cat truck built. (The first being the first ride truck and the second being the first Predator race truck.) Predator 3 has normally been distinguised by its front four-link setup. The main portion of the chasis is a Dan Patrick design with the front four-link cradle section added. This truck originally ran Kuster coil-over shocks but I do not have any pictures of the truck like that up here. The truck was changed over to Knight Stalker nitrogen shocks and the frame was slightly altered. That is the point at which these first pictures are from. There is no motor in the truck in these pictures because it was in the process of having a new one put in. |
The truck was sold in the late 90's to Brian Garno who ran the truck as Carnivore. The only main change was that the frame was painted a different shade of orange and the truck ran a Chevrolet pickup body. I do not currently have any pictures of Carnivore up. |
In 2002 Allen Pezo bought Predator 3 back from Brian Garno and it was run as a second Predator truck during the end of 2002 and the first quarter of 2003. Several changes were made to the truck including reinforcing the roll cage and changing the shocks to by-pass nitrogen shocks. The frame was left the same lighter shade of orange that it had been painted when it ran as Carnivore. The truck was damaged quite a bit after a roll in January of 2003 in Saint John's, NB and the front cradle was rebuilt. |
In May 2003 the new Lone Eagle debuted on the Predator #3 chassis. 19 years after the first Lone Eagle made its debut, this new Lone Eagle would be a tribute to the victims of September 11 and American veterans. The new Lone Eagle is a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 body. Predator #3 ran the Lone Eagle body as well as a Predator body throughout the rest of 2003. |
In late 2003, Predator #3 was completely rebuilt. The front four-link mounts were moved to the center of the chassis and the rear of the frame was modified so that a hemi would be able to fit between the frame rails. The frame was powder coated candy blue and the shocks and four links were coated silver. This newly updated chassis debuted in the first quarter of 2004 with a Predator body and yellow wheels. The truck also had a 557ci Arias Hemi. Later in 2004 the truck was given silver wheels. Predator #3 ran as both Predator and Lone Eagle throughout 2004. |
For 2005 the chassis was gone over and a new Arias Hemi was added. The truck also recieved a brand new set of Predator Racing two piece wheels with newly cut tires. The chassis is running a Predator body for the first quarter of 2005 and will most likely run as both Predator and Lone Eagle for the rest of the year. |
